What a fantastic way to unwind and dream and sleep the days away.

We have enjoyed our trip about in the 4 x 4 that we rented from Trip N Tour,  we put it to good use ! We explored roads, got lost on roads. The gravel roads tested the best of travellers, but we had a blast. Talked the legs off people on the way, were invited to spend a nite in a village and have dinner and lunch with them ( we didn't but the thought was nice ! ). The locals are amazing, just remember they want to please you and say yes when it should be no ! and never believe ' just down the road, not far '  We never found what we were looking for !! and travelled for miles if not hours :) There are amazing beaches on the Hibiscus Coast Road. We took a picnic out there and enjoyed sitting under the trees, eating the most wonderful fruit, and so sweet, wish it was like this at home ! We had lunch at Koro Sun ( had to book it ). The food was wonderful, the building amazing, but the atmosphere and friendly staff were missing.... We had a wonderful meal at Cousteau resort, couldn't fault anything. We booked in 5 days ahead for the buffet evening which is held on Tuesday and Sunday nite $88.00. You choose they cook, brilliant. Did the usual surf n turf, best meals in town, captains table-lovely, Decked out Cafe-good for a beer. Kalesi came in and cooked us a wonderful Fijian meal of Fish. Peleise came in for massages which were heaven, we had her twice, absolutely good value. Both these ladies are wonderful, caring and kind. In all we had an awesome holiday in an amazing home with gobsmacking views, that entertained us for hours. We got fitter as the days went on with the stairs. Loved the Pool. In all thank you Brad and Therese for an incredible holiday. Moce..

Thank you Therese & Brad for your wonderful hospitality. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the House of Bamboo with

its amazing views and all the amenities that this delightful holiday home has to offer. We didn't find the stairs an issue and the walk up through the beautiful garden, searching for fallen frangipani flowers along the way, was a bonus. We have enjoyed frequent dips in the pool and relaxing on the daybed. Some of the other highlights for us were-sitting on the deck, watching the ever-changing colours of the sunset - amazing snorkelling at split rock - meeting Kalesi and Tom - chatting with ladies from a nearby village and learning about their culture. We enjoyed the visit to their village (Nukubalavu) loved their singing and dancing, the friendly locals and beautiful children - Day trip to Labasa, a different cultural experience - particularly enjoyed the sights and uniqueness of the market - we endorse previous comments regards taxis and dining out.  After enjoying 12 wonderful days in this idealic location, we will take home many wonderful memories supported by a multitude of photos. We wish you well in your new venture with the Pod House. Rob has enjoyed following the progress and we look forward to seeing photos on the website once it is finished. This has been the perfect place to enjoy some time away from the Christchurch Earthquakes. Bula Vinaka.

Please refer to April 2010 which was our first trip to House of Bamboo. We still have that 'Awe' feeling, but now it also feels like our home-which is great to share with the world. Almost 40 travel hours each way-but we did it a second time and are planning the next

one already. It is mostly two things that bring us back. Many places in the world have beaches, warm weather, great snorkelling and beautiful palm trees BUT .... the people here bring us back. The local people and the House of Bamboo, because of Brad and Therese. Thank you again for sharing this paradise and a lot of yourselves and family with us. You are the best hosts ever !! More relaxing at the house this time in the awesome pool and Dave snorkelling for hours in front. Cousteau Resort very accommodating for drinks in the afternoon, lunch, dinner, whatever. Surf N Turf still our 'town' favorite eating place. Avi from Paradise Cabs a wonderful taxi driver-always on time. Recommend a local cell phone, we will bring it back next time. Huge thanks again to Brad and Therese !!

We have spent the last eight days in this wonderful enchanted home. We have been amazed and mesmerised by the views and the comfort. Brad & Therese made us feel at home and checked on us to answer questions. The pool cooled and refreshed many times a day. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your little paradise on earth.  Thanks also for the tips on Parmesh for Taxis, Surf N Turf for meals and especially for UNA who came twice to give us all massages. We have had a wonderful time......... and hope to return.

Thank you Brad & Therese for such a wonderful stay at the 'House of Bamboo'. Our first time in Fiji has been both relaxing and

exciting. We loved the snorkelling all around the bay and of course even right outside the house. We were very excited to see anemones, starfish, clams, a nudibranch, a sea turtle and of course all of the crabs and fishes. The people here are very

friendly and we had a wonderful time in town. The sweet bread in town is amazing !! Although we didn't get a sunset during

our stay, the view was always amazing from the house. Maybe we will just have to come back a few years from now to get

our sunset :) Thank you for an amazing time !!

12 Weeks/3 Months

Brad & Therese we have said our thankyou to you but again thankyou. Our home for three months was all we expected ( after the rave reviews that's not easy when expectations are so high to start ) well done. We will have many life time memories of the house and its view and more importantly the people of Savusavu. Your friendship and opening your house/home in Oneva to us we will cherish. I will post our trip advisor experiences to assist other travellers. Regarding activities however some highlights for other guests - Diving We used Colin at Koro. It's his business not just a job, so we do recommend them ( we had the time to investigate the options ). Dive Namena if possible. Food Highlights Curry Night at Surf N Turf ( Thursday $25 ). Captains Cafe great value consistent quality. Dolphin Trip to Natewa Bay includes very good snorkelling and good pizza lunch ( understand you are likely to see and get close to the dolphins in the boat but won't be swimming with them ). Fun day out.

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home. We've had a fantastic time relaxing and milling about the place. The house indeed had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed several BBQ's whilst watching the sunset, the odd glass of wine round the pool but mainly looking out on the idyllic views of the ocean. I wish I could give advice on all the exciting things to do, but we did absolutely nothing apart from read books and relax - the house is perfect for it !!! Savusavu is a beautiful town with warm and friendly people, just walking down the road you'll meet and greet them. The Restaurants are great, we ate at Surf N Turf, Captains Cafe and Decked Out - all really good and excellent value. We really enjoyed our dinner at Jean Michel Cousteau, food was delicious, service impeccable, higher pricing but well worth it. Thank you for being fantastic hosts. I've never stayed anywhere so welcoming and the recommendations made were accurate and much needed. Graeme particularly loved the Hot Bread Kitchen !! We definitely want to come back very soon ! We'll be contacting you in the near future and be recommending you to friends. Thanks again.

Thank you Brad & Therese for a wonderful stay. A perfect way to spend a 50th Birthday !! Million Dollar views, perfect accom, made for a welcoming relaxing stray. Kalesi cooking  a traditional Fijian meal was a highlight ! Going to the market and buying the fish and ingredients listed by Kalesi was fun. A nice alternative to cooking ourselves or going in town for a meal. Peleise's massage was so relaxing. Great stay and thank you.

What a brilliant place to stay, on our return after 15 years away from this paradise that is Savusavu. We won't wait another 15. May all your ventures be as successful. Till the next time ( guests of Ian & Denise ).

Vinaka Vakalevu ! It's a great pleasure to us to stay at your Beach Shack, this tasteful hideaway place with so many fine details. The interest in farming South Sea cultured Pearls brought us here. Their colours are just divine ! We met many friendly people, always up for a chat. A quiet atmosphere and reef nature so plentiful, with happy coloured fish and corals. They definitely touched our hearts. We enjoyed to have a relaxing break on our adventurous family trip through Australia and the South Pacific.

What a great place to spend a relaxing few days, reading by the pool, wandering around the town or just taking it easy soaking up the beauty here and not worrying about time. Our recommendations - Babu or Parma were just great taxi drivers and very reliable. It was easy to get a cab down at the market as well. Brad's suggestion of the Hot Bread Shop was spot on. Learn to dive with Rock N

Down Under Divers, very reasonably priced and very obliging. Snorkel when tide is coming in at Split Rock or at the area between the House and Cousteau jetty. Rock N Down Under will take you snorkelling too. Saturday morning sees Savusavu bustling with people on Main Street and at the Markets. A real chance to get the atmosphere. Splurge on one meal at Cousteau. Don't be surprised if one of the locals starts up a conversation and invites you to their home or village for a short visit. Elly and I were treated to green coconut and a brief glimpse into a Fijian Village. These people are very friendly , hospitable and welcoming. PS When coming up the stairs at night you might see some Large Hermit Crabs. -From Elly-What an incredible trip, an incredible place and an incredible view. The people here are the most friendly of anywhere I've ever been. Don't be surprised if you're invited into the homes of nice locals off the street.

( We were fed coconut juice and given ear rings this morning by a woman we had never met before) If you hear any music played by

the locals (they play at the resort quite often) make sure to try to stop and listen. The resort encourages a look around and the music

is beautiful. I hope your stay is as wonderful as ours was.

Our stay has been amazing and so perfectly relaxing and peaceful. As it was our 29th Wedding Anniversary the Bamboo House has been the Perfect Place to get away from it all and just relax. Brad & Therese must have a sixth sense because you can bet your

life we will always forget something, but then miraculously find just the thing you need in the drawer, like a sewing kit for instance. Amazing everything you need is here. Those sunsets in the bath and evenings on the deck watching the Geckos catch the moths.

Delicious fresh bread from the Hot Bread Kitchen, we loved the bread rolls. The Decked Out Cafe was so chilled out, and I think we must have drunk all their Chradonnay, we ended up on something else at the end of our stay. The staff there were so friendly and welcoming. We discovered a friendly lady at the shops near the market who made some sarongs and sulus for me to wear during

our stay and highly recommended is Babu, the local taxi driver from Paradise Cars. He made our stay that much easier. We noticed someone else recommnded him back in May, and we agree. Friendly, knowledgeable, chatty he drove us around all week.

He even took us to Labasa for the day and waited around for us to do some shopping. Wonderful Guy, very reliable, always on time

as well. Everything was perfect, we will definitely be back. Even the steps will not stop us. Thanks Brad and Therese for making our

stay so comfortable. Hopefully we will be able to come back soon, so see you then.
