Bula and welcome to the about us page, our guests are always interested in the fact that our family have relocated to Fiji......
It's also nice to know who is picking you up at the airport....
Our family moved to Savusavu in early 2005. We are originally from Australia, having moved here from Byron Bay-Australia's most easterly point, and a well known tourist spot.
Like many other expats living in Fiji, we came here on a holiday, fell in love with the feel, the people and pace of life in Savusavu. We then bought property, and moved.......
Savusavu is a friendly community and people have the time to stop and chat when they meet you on the street......you can never be lonely in a town like this.
Our children-Zack (15) and Ella (13), both attend school here in Savusavu.
They love the lifestyle but still enjoy visiting friends and family back in Australia and of course going shopping when we are there.......they have gone from surfing to sailing, diving and stand up paddle surfing.
Hopefully as they grow older they will have some wonderful memories of growing up in Fiji, they are able to be children a little longer. They are more independent here as it is such a safe environment to grow up in. They can't walk around the mall but they can walk the dog alone on the beach....
It has been a huge change for our family, even though we went from one coastal area to another. Life here in Savusavu is very different in lots of ways.
Of course we LOVE the people and love the relaxed and down to earth way of life. This is a much less hurried existence and there is much less commercialism........than other parts of the world.
Our own home is about a half hours drive from the House of Bamboo so we are close enough to lend a hand where needed.
We hope that you can come visit us sometime and see why we fell in love with this gorgeous spot and its diverse and accepting community....this place that we now call home......
Some guests have also done what we have done and bought property here in Savusavu. It's pretty easy to feel at home in this small island town.
Sotatale,
Brad & Therese
